Project
Neptunus Power successfully completed the 48K major overhaul of Wartsila W9L32 STBD main engines onboard an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel operating in Vietnam. The engines had accumulated more than 45,000 running hours and required a comprehensive overhaul as per OEM recommendations to restore operational reliability and performance.
The overhaul scope included complete dismantling, inspection, calibration, renewal, and reassembly of critical engine systems including cylinder heads, piston assemblies, crankshaft bearings, fuel injection systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, valve mechanisms, pumps, and starting air systems. Additional replacement of engine dampers was also carried out during the overhaul process.
All calibration readings, crack tests, pressure tests, and dimensional checks were recorded and verified within OEM permissible limits. Following completion, both engines successfully underwent no-load operation, load trials, and sea trials. Operating parameters including lube oil pressure, cooling water temperature, exhaust gas temperature, and crankshaft deflection were found satisfactory, confirming stable engine performance and successful restoration of engine reliability.Neptunus Power successfully completed the 48K major overhaul of Wartsila W9L32 STBD main engines onboard an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel operating in Vietnam. Through systematic execution, accurate calibration, OEM-compliant overhaul procedures, and detailed inspections, both engines were restored to stable operational condition with satisfactory sea trial performance.
This project demonstrates Neptunus Power expertise in delivering reliable marine engine overhaul solutions for demanding offshore and marine operations.Leave a Reply
