  • Observation:
    Initial checks revealed no start permission due to ongoing rig operations. On inspection, insulation resistance and winding resistance of key alternator components (Stator, Rotor, PMG, Exciter) were found to be within acceptable limits. The AVR input circuit had a loose PT wire, and the Main Generator No.5 showed intermittent alarms due to a faulty harness.
  • Work Carried Out and Result:
    The loose PT wire in the AVR circuit was tightened. An external DC excitation test confirmed the alternator output was stable at rated speed. Upon reconnection of the AVR and retesting, voltage output stabilized at 600V AC. The AVR previously used for Emergency Generator was reprogrammed and returned to Main Generator 1.
